When can we book our ceremony in Wrexham and how does it work for fees and payments?
Here in Wrexham, we take bookings up to 2 years in advance. To make a booking, a non-refundable provisional booking fee of £100 will be required to secure your date. This will be deducted from the final balance.
If the wedding date is more than 12 months away, there is also a non-refundable advanced booking fee of £75. The final balance will be due one month before your wedding date. A reminder will be sent.

Where and when can we do our notice of marriage?
You both need to attend an appointment at your local register office to see a registrar. You will be asked to show proof of your identity, home address and that you are free to marry.
You can do this no earlier than 12 months before the ceremony and we advise no later than 3 months before.
When will a registrar contact me?
A member of the Wrexham Registration team will aim to call you a week before the Ceremony to check in with you both and answer any queries you have.

Can I personalise my ceremony?

Who can be a witness?
Anyone can act as a witness to your wedding.
Please note that you are required to bring the 2 witnesses with you on the day. They do not have to be related to you, they will however be required to be present throughout the entire ceremony, understand the legal significance of the ceremony, and if they are ever called into a court of law, they can state that they witnessed and understood the ceremony.
We advise that young children are not suitable. Both witnesses are required to print their name and sign the schedule at the end of the ceremony
Do I need to bring any ID or paperwork on the day?
No as you would have done this prior when you did your notice of marriage. Your witnesses are also not required to provide anything on the day.
How do I change my name?
At the end of the ceremony, you will both be required to sign the schedule. You will be asked to sign in the names that are specified on your paperwork. When you have received your marriage certificate, this is the official proof to change your name.
